How the calculation works
The number of trusses comes from the roof length and truss spacing, usually 600 mm. The calculator then works out the timber for bracing and binders, the truss clips and straps that tie the roof to the walls, and the fixings, from the roof size and type you choose.
The trusses themselves are designed and made to order by a truss manufacturer, so their price can be added separately.
Things to check
Trusses must be braced exactly as the truss designer specifies; bracing is what stops them leaning or racking.
Attic trusses create a usable room in the roof but are heavier and need careful handling on site.
